Overview

ExpressTRADE is a Canadian dealer-to-dealer wholesale vehicle trading platform operated by ExpressTRADE Inc. This policy covers data collected by the ExpressTRADE web platform at expresstradeit.ca, the ExpressTRADE Importer Chrome extension, and the ExpressTRADE Valuator Chrome extension.

What the Chrome extension collects

  • Your ExpressTRADE API token, which you enter manually in the extension settings. Stored locally via chrome.storage.sync so you do not have to re-enter it.
  • Vehicle data read from the auction site you are actively viewing when you click the Import button: VIN, year, make, model, trim, mileage, photos, damage photos, and the Carfax report associated with that vehicle. This data is cached transiently per browser tab and cleared when the tab is closed or navigated.

How the extension uses collected data

Collected data is sent exclusively to your own ExpressTRADE account at expresstradeit.ca via authenticated REST API calls, using the API token you provided. No data is sent to any third party.

What we do NOT do

  • We do not sell or transfer user data to third parties.
  • We do not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to importing vehicles into your ExpressTRADE account.
  • We do not use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
  • We do not collect personally identifiable information, health information, financial information, personal communications, location data, web browsing history, or user activity outside of the import flow you explicitly trigger.

Data retention

The API token remains in chrome.storage.sync until you remove the extension or clear it manually in the extension settings. Vehicle data cached per tab is cleared when the tab closes. Data stored in your ExpressTRADE account is retained according to the platform's terms.

Permissions

The extension requests storage, activeTab, scripting, and tabs permissions, plus host permissions for supported auction sites, photo CDNs, carfax.ca/carfax.com, and expresstradeit.ca. Each permission is used solely to support the import workflow.

ExpressTRADE Valuator Chrome extension

The ExpressTRADE Valuator is a separate extension for authorized ExpressTRADE dealers to value wholesale vehicles while browsing supported auction sites.

What it collects

  • Your ExpressTRADE API token, entered manually in the extension settings and stored locally via chrome.storage.sync.
  • Your valuation preferences (profit, exchange rate, expenses), stored locally.
  • Vehicle data read from the auction listing you are viewing: VIN and odometer. Used to retrieve a wholesale value and saved as a valuation record in your ExpressTRADE account.

How it uses collected data

When you view a vehicle, the extension reads the VIN and odometer and relays a valuation request through your own authenticated session on the wholesale valuation-data site to retrieve the current wholesale value. Valuation records (VIN, vehicle details, values, and your adjustments) are saved to your ExpressTRADE account via authenticated API calls. Data is not sent to any other third party.

Permissions

The extension requests storage and tabs permissions, plus host permissions for supported auction sites and the wholesale valuation-data site, used solely to support on-page valuation.

Data retention

Your API token and preferences remain in chrome.storage.sync until removed. Valuation records are retained in your ExpressTRADE account for one year, then deleted.
